TCCAC Peer Leadership Pathways

There are Five Leadership Pathways that were identified and created at the TCCAC Preschool Development Grant (PDG) Leadership Summit, November 2019.

The Five identified Pathways and corresponding Subgroups are: (1) Vision, (2) Culture,

(3) Partnerships, (4) Health/Wellness , and (5) Quality.

The Peer Leadership Pathway Subgroups are comprised of a diverse group of professionals from Tribal CCDF Grantees, State representatives (California Department of Education, Early Learning and Care Division (CDE-ELCD), Professional Development Training representatives and First 5 California), as well as Federal representative and other stakeholders.

The TCCAC PDG Leadership Summit focused on Peer Leadership Growth and Development through the creation of subgroups that were a result of the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) process. The TCCAC enlisted the Community Development Institute (CDI) Consultant Team to facilitate and support the TCCAC PDG AI sessions.

The project described was supported by the Preschool Development Grant Birth Through Five Initiative (PDG), Grant Number 90TP0015-01-01 from the Office of Child Care, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the Office of Child Care, the Administration for Children and Families, or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

An Update from the Quality Design Pathway Subgroup:

My name is Dianne Thompson, and I’m representing the Quality Design Pathway team group, which grew out of the PDG Leadership Summit of the Tribal Child Care Association of California (TCCAC). I am currently the Director of Family Child Care at Its Best and employed with the Placer County Office of Education. Our Subgroup is made up of representatives of WestEd, County Office of Education, Tribal CCDF Grantees, and TCCAC leaders. We’re asking all California Tribes who operate Tribal CCDF, or early learning and care programs, to complete a survey to assist TCCAC in developing a plan to best support tribes in California.

We will use the survey results to support and plan activities and services for the next two years. We’re requesting one person (preferably the Tribal CCDF administrator) complete the survey as that person will receive by mail, an Amazon gift card worth $25.00. If more than one person completes the survey, the first person completing the survey will receive the gift card.

Click on the link below to take the survey. (Gift cards were made possible through the Project HOPE CA initiative in partnership with TCCAC and CDE/ELCD with the support of BUILD funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation)

Thank you for all you do on behalf of Tribes.
